The Treatment
What laser hair removal actually is: and who it's for.
What it is
Laser hair removal directs a targeted beam of light into the pigment of the hair follicle. The heat disables the follicle's ability to regrow, session by session, until the treated area is smooth and effectively hair-free. We use a medical-grade laser machine chosen specifically for its clinical safety profile and ability to treat a broad range of skin and hair types.
Who it's for
Adults across Banstead, Cheam, Epsom, Ewell, Sutton and the wider borough who are ready to stop shaving, waxing, threading or plucking for good, including women managing PCOS-related hair growth, men wanting a defined beard line or back and chest reduction, and clients preparing for weddings, holidays or life events.
When it's right
Any time of year. We recommend beginning a course six months before a wedding or major holiday so the full protocol is complete. Sessions are spaced four to six weeks apart depending on the treatment area, following the hair growth cycle.
Why professional matters
Home IPL devices and salon-grade machines simply cannot deliver the fluence a medical-grade laser can, which is why the results plateau and hair returns. A properly-trained practitioner reads your skin, chooses the right settings, protects surrounding tissue and adjusts the protocol as your hair thins. That is the difference between a saving and a waste.
The Cost of Leaving It
What happens when it's left, or done badly.
Waxing, shaving and threading are a lifelong tax on your time, your skin and your confidence, most clients tell us they've spent thousands over a decade with nothing permanent to show for it.
Cheap IPL devices and untrained operators frequently cause burns, hyperpigmentation and paradoxical hair growth. We routinely treat clients who came to us to correct damage done elsewhere.
Ingrown hairs, folliculitis, razor bumps and Brazilian shaving rashes are not just uncomfortable, they can leave permanent scarring and pigment change, especially on darker skin tones.
Every month you delay is another cycle of stubble, another appointment, another £30 wax. A properly delivered course pays for itself, usually within eighteen months.
The Precious Moments Method
How we deliver laser hair removal, step by step.
-
Step 1
Consultation & Patch Test
A no-obligation consultation, medical history and mandatory patch test, booked at least 48 hours before your first full treatment, in line with our safety protocol.
-
Step 2
Prescriptive Protocol
We map the area, assess skin type on the Fitzpatrick scale, and set the machine parameters, fluence, pulse duration and cooling, for your skin and hair colour.
-
Step 3
Treatment
Each pulse is delivered with contact cooling for comfort. A small underarm takes ten minutes; full legs around forty-five. Most clients describe it as a warm elastic-band flick.
-
Step 4
Aftercare
Written aftercare, SPF guidance, and a review of what to avoid for 48 hours (heat, exercise, active skincare). We are on WhatsApp if anything feels unusual.
-
Step 5
Course Review
At session four we review shedding, thinning and coverage, adjusting the protocol if any patches need extra attention. A course of six with your seventh treatment free is our most-booked package.
What You Actually Get
Specific, measurable benefits.
Genuinely permanent reduction
Most areas achieve 80–95% permanent reduction over a full course, with occasional top-ups for hormonal areas.
Kinder to skin than shaving
No razor rash, no waxing rip, no ingrowns. Skin over the treated area typically becomes clearer and smoother overall.
Time back in your life
The average woman spends 72 days of her life shaving. Reclaim your mornings, your holidays and your confidence.
Safer, medical-grade machine
Five years' clinical laser experience on a medical-grade device with contact cooling: not a discount IPL.
Real course savings
Buy a course of 6 and receive your 7th treatment free; buy 8 and receive 10. Early Bird repeat courses save further.
Trained, insured, accountable
Council-registered clinic, fully insured, patch-tested, with a written record for every session and every setting.
The Detail
Everything you'd want to know before booking.
The machine we use
Our treatment room is fitted with a medical-grade laser platform, used by our team for five years and supported by initial manufacturer training plus ongoing advanced training. Medical-grade lasers deliver a higher, more consistent fluence than IPL devices, target the melanin in the follicle more precisely, and give the operator granular control of pulse duration, the three variables that separate clinical hair removal from cosmetic hair reduction.
Areas we treat
Face: upper lip, chin, jawline, sideburns, cheeks, neck and full face. Body (women): underarms, standard bikini, extended bikini, Hollywood, half legs, full legs, forearms, full arms, stomach line, full stomach, buttocks, nipples and toes. Body (men): beard shaping, cheeks, neck, ears, shoulders, back, chest, stomach, arms, buttocks, standard and Hollywood. We do not treat over tattoos, active infections, or immediately over moles.
How many sessions you'll need
Hair grows in three phases, anagen (growing), catagen (transitional) and telogen (resting). Only anagen hairs respond to laser. Because roughly a fifth to a third of your hair is in anagen at any moment, 6–10 sessions spaced 4–6 weeks apart is the standard protocol. Hormonal areas (face, bikini) may need occasional maintenance thereafter.
Safety, patch tests & consent
Every new client completes a medical questionnaire and a patch test at least 48 hours before their first treatment: non-negotiable. We ask about medications (particularly photosensitising ones), recent sun exposure, tanning products, pregnancy, and any history of keloid scarring or cold sores in the treated area. Every session is recorded with settings, area and reaction, so the protocol is data-led not guesswork.
How we plan laser hair removal at Precious Moments.
A good result is not created by the treatment name alone. It is created by the consultation, the suitability check, the order of treatments, the settings used, the aftercare followed and the consistency of the course. That is why every laser hair removal client starts with a conversation about medical history, previous treatments, medication, skin behaviour, lifestyle, upcoming events and the result they actually want. If another treatment would deliver the outcome more safely or more directly, we say so before you spend money.
The clinic works from 6 Eastgate in Banstead, so repeated appointments are realistic for clients travelling from Cheam, Epsom, Ewell, Sutton, Coulsdon, Kingswood, Chipstead and Tattenham. That matters because most meaningful aesthetic results are not single-visit miracles. They come from a correct sequence: the first appointment establishes the baseline, the middle appointments build the result, and the review appointment decides whether maintenance, a top-up or a different layer of treatment is the sensible next step.
Pricing is kept live on Treatwell so clients are not reading old figures on the website. Course value is built into the clinic model: buy a course of six and receive the seventh treatment free; buy eight and receive ten. Repeat-course Early Bird offers and the loyalty stamp scheme can reduce the cost further for clients who already know they want an ongoing skin, laser or body plan. A deposit is required to secure booking, and appointments can be rescheduled without charge outside the 48-hour window.
Safety is documented rather than assumed. Precious Moments is fully insured, council-registered for skin-piercing and semi-permanent make-up procedures, and uses licensed clinical-waste disposal for sharps and treatment waste. Practitioners hold NVQ Level 2 and Level 3 beauty qualifications, with additional advanced training across laser, skin needling, radio frequency, injectables, oncology massage and Dermalux LED protocols. That combination gives each appointment a clear structure: assess, treat, record, advise and review.
Suitability before sales
If laser hair removal is not the right route for your skin, body or timetable, we will redirect the plan rather than forcing the booking.
Local course consistency
Regular attendance is easier from a Banstead clinic with clear opening hours, WhatsApp support and a small team who remember your treatment history.
Aftercare that protects results
You leave with practical instructions on heat, exercise, actives, SPF, makeup, swimming or massage restrictions where relevant: not vague advice.

Frequently Asked
Laser Hair Removal in Banstead, your questions, answered.
How much does laser hair removal cost in Banstead?
+
Prices start at £25 for a patch test, £41 for upper lip and £65 for a bikini. Larger areas such as full leg are £210. Every course of 6 includes a 7th session free, and a course of 8 includes 10, the fastest way to bring the cost-per-session down. Full price list is on this page and mirrors our live Treatwell menu.
How many sessions will I need?
+
Six to ten sessions spaced four to six weeks apart is the norm. Face and bikini often need slightly more because of hormonal regrowth; underarms and legs often finish sooner. We review progress at session four.
Is it painful?
+
Most clients describe it as a warm elastic-band snap. Our machine has integrated contact cooling that dramatically reduces the sensation, and we can pause any time. Underarms are usually done in under ten minutes.
How soon will I see results?
+
Treated hairs shed over the two weeks after each session. Most people notice a real reduction in density by session three and are essentially hair-free by session six to eight.
Is laser hair removal permanent?
+
The industry-correct term is 'permanent reduction', 80–95% is typical across a full course, with a small number of hormonal follicles sometimes requiring annual maintenance.
Do I need a patch test?
+
Yes, always, and at least 48 hours before your first treatment. This is a safety protocol we do not waive, regardless of whether you've had laser elsewhere.
Can I have laser if I'm tanned or on holiday soon?
+
We can't treat freshly tanned, sunburnt or fake-tanned skin, the risk of burn and pigment change is too high. We recommend two weeks clear of sun exposure and self-tan before each session, and strict SPF between sessions.
Is the clinic insured?
+
Yes. We hold full public liability insurance that covers every treatment offered, our clinic is registered with the local council for skin-piercing procedures, and clinical waste is disposed of via a licensed contractor.
How do I book?
+
The fastest route is our Treatwell page for real-time availability. You can also call the clinic or WhatsApp 07457 404213, we usually reply within the same working day.
What's your cancellation policy?
+
A deposit is required to book. Cancellations outside 48 hours can be rescheduled free of charge.
